arm, upper arm (s) (noun); arms; upper arms (pl)
The anatomical region between the shoulder and the elbow: The upper arm includes the humerus and associated tissues.
articulation (s) (noun), articulations (pl)
The joint between rigid parts of a body: The articulation or junction is between two or more bones or cartilages, and the bones are typically held together by ligaments
axis (s) (noun), axiis (pl)
The second vertebra of the neck; epistropheus: The axis and the first vertebra are the center of rotation of the head.
back (s) (noun), backs (pl)
The dorsal surface (topline) of a dog: The back of a dog usually extends from the withers (highest part of the back at the base of the neck) to the end of the rib cage.
back dropping through withers (s) (noun) (no pl)
A topline similar to a hollow back but affecting only the front section immediately behind the withers: The back dropping through withers describes the dips and sags just behind the shoulder blade of a dog.
bandog, tiedog (s) (noun); bandogs; tiedogs (pl)
A dog tied by day and released at night: The bandog that Mr. Jones had was trained as a guard dog.
barrel hock, spread hock (s) (noun); barrel hocks; spread hocks (pl)
An anatomical abnormality in dogs in which the ankle joins turn out, causing the feet to toe inward: The disorder of spread hocks can inhibit the mobility and ability of a dogs to do certain activities.
bat ear (s) (noun), bat ears (pl)
An erect ear, rather broad at the base, rounded in outline at the top and with the orifice directed to the front: The French Bulldog has bat ears.
bay (s) (noun), bays (pl)
The prolonged bark or voice of the hunting hound: Certain dogs that are specialized to find, chase, and then their howl or bay is heard by the hunters during a hunt, for example during a wild boar hunt.
bear-like coat (s) (noun), bear-like coats (pl)
A double coat consisting of a harsh outer jacket coupled with a soft, dense, woolly undercoat: Some dogs like the Chow Chow, the Akita, and the Great Pyrenees have bear-like coats.

The ventral (under) surface of the abdomen: The belly, or venter, is a fleshy and contractible section of a muscle in the abdomen area.

The dog judged to be the best of all breeds at a dog show: Jane read an article about the Best in Show and wished that her dog could take part in such a competition and win!
Best of Breed (s) (noun), Best of Breeds s (pl)
The dog selected by the judge as the best representative of a particular breed on that day: Mary's dog, a Bergamasco Sheepdog, was chosen as the Best of Breed in the competition.
biddable (adjective), more biddable, most biddable
Referring to a dog that could be easily taught or controlled: Joe looked for a biddable dog for his daughter, and with the qualities of being obedient and docile.

A sporting dog bred and trained to hunt and to retrieve game birds after they are shot: Bird dogs are highly specialized in finding such game birds as quails, ducks, pheasants, and grouse.
